Engineering owners. Not just resources.
SADE Innovations is a Finnish product development company in Salo and Turku, wholly owned by the engineers who do the work.
Around forty people covering software, cloud, embedded systems, electronics, mechanics and industrial design.
The company
A full-service R&D house, on purpose.
SADE Innovations was founded in 2017 and works from two offices, in Salo and Turku. We focus on custom IoT solutions, which in practice means our projects span the full width of product development: web and mobile applications, embedded software, cloud services, electronics, mechanics and design.
That breadth is a deliberate choice rather than an accident of growth. Connected products fail at the boundaries between disciplines, and keeping those disciplines under one roof is what lets one team — and one named Lead Engineer — be accountable for the whole outcome.
Over 320 completed projects and more than 90 company customers later, the pattern holds: the hard part is rarely any single layer. It is making the device, the cloud and the interface behave as one product.

Cooperation model
The Lead Engineer model.
SADE Lead Engineer is a highly experienced senior engineer who is simultaneously project lead, technology expert and the person answerable for the outcome.
Multi-discipline projects often fail at the boundaries. When device, cloud and application are led separately — or worse, by separate suppliers — nobody owns the integration, and the customer ends up doing the coordination they were trying to outsource. SADE Lead Engineer makes sure that this does not happen with SADE.
Every SADE project gets a nominated SADE Lead Engineer: one person who is accountable for the whole delivery. One person who holds the architecture, carries out coding work as part of the project team, makes the technical calls, challenges the concept, and answers for delivery — so the coordination between device, cloud and application work never becomes the customer's job.
This is also why employee ownership matters commercially — the person leading your project is an owner of the company delivering it.
Commitment
Everyone here owns the company.
SADE is 100% employee-owned, with ownership spread roughly equally across the team.
The people designing, building and supporting your solution are also owners of the business delivering it. That is not a cultural slogan — it changes who is in the room when a difficult decision gets made, and who carries the consequence.
Continuity
The engineer who architected your system is unusually likely to still be here in three years, because leaving means selling a stake in something they built.
Accountability
There is no layer between you and the people responsible. Problems are raised early because nobody benefits from hiding them.
Long-term commitment
Decisions get made against a multi-year horizon rather than a quarterly one, which matters when the product you are building will be in service for a decade.
Values
What we actually optimise for.
Openness
Estimates, risks and bad news are shared as they are. A project where the customer finds out late is a project that has already gone wrong.
Responsibility
We carry concrete ownership of the customer project rather than supplying hours against a specification someone else wrote.
Technical quality
The solution has to survive years of service and change hands without falling apart. That standard is not negotiable to hit a date.
Practicality
The right answer is the one that works in the field, at the customer's budget. Sometimes that means telling you not to build something. We would rather lose the project than deliver one that quietly fails to pay back.
Trust and continuity
Partnerships and credentials

Validated AWS delivery capability — your cloud is built on a reviewed partner architecture, not on one team's habits.
100% employee-owned
The people who design and maintain your solution are owners of the company, which supports continuity and long-term accountability.
NCAGE registered
A NATO commercial and government entity code, required for participating in defence and dual-use procurement.
Digital Defence Ecosystem member
Membership in the Finnish digital defence network, giving access to shared development and joint programmes.
AA creditworthiness
