SADE accepted to join the Digital Defence Ecosystem – boosting innovation through collaboration ⚙️

We’re proud to share that SADE Innovations has been accepted to join the Digital Defence Ecosystem (DDE) — a national network of Finnish defence and technology companies and research institutes co-developing the next generation of digital defence solutions.
DDE brings together Finland’s leading expertise in electronics, software, secure communications, and dual-use technologies — accelerating collaboration and innovation across the defence and security sectors.
As a full-service cloud and IoT partner, SADE contributes with its strong background in connected devices, embedded software, and secure data systems.
“Our goal is to make R&D smarter, faster, and more cost-efficient,” says Sami Metsänperä, Sales Manager at SADE and our representative in DDE. “A low-cost drone can deliver the same impact as a million-euro missile — innovation today means using technology creatively and efficiently.” 🛰️
SADE’s DDE membership follows collaboration in the VTT Dual Use Discovery Programme and the Darkstar Defence Tech Hackathon, where new partnerships with ecosystem members like Millog Oy began to take shape. As part of DDE, SADE will continue to develop digital defence and dual-use solutions — from tactical communications and sensor networks to near-battlefield logistics and situational awareness systems.
“DDE’s openness and agility create an environment where real innovation happens,” Metsänperä adds. “It’s a perfect fit for us.”
