SADE and L7Drive part of developing Sion electric car

”Electric cars are so hot nowadays that of course it feels good that also we are involved in their development”, says Juha Kuosa, CEO of SADE Innovations. ”And for sure, Sion is one of the most interesting ones; we just can´t wait to start seeing them in road traffic!”
But let´s see now, just how is SADE involved in this, and how did SADE get onboard with Sono Motors, based in Germany?
Let´s go back in time a couple of years 😊. You may remember that a couple of years ago we told about our Connected Vehicle project with L7Drive. In that project, we delivered a solution where each electric vehicle and its power train can be connected to the cloud. Fast-forwarding to today, a huge number of things have materialized: German-based company Sono Motors communicated recently that currently, they are in the middle of the production of so-called series validation vehicles – and the preorder possibility continues, and the expected start of production will be in 2023.
Especially interesting in Sion is what you will see on its outside body: solar panel surfaces. This means that when driving, the car also recharges itself – although of course, the car is also equipped with a regular power socket. SADE technology in the car can be found via another Finland-based company L7Drive: L7Drive delivers the vehicle connectivity module to the car, and SADE Innovations handled the circuit board design, mechanics and design of the circuit board casing, and production testing software. For a Sion driver, this device enables controlling the car remotely, through the cloud, and the owner of the car can see for example the location of the car and its battery status by using a mobile phone.
”Yeah, I have to say, solar energy is groovy”, Juha continues. ”If you think about it, it´s kind of funny that even though the name of our company is extremely rainy (“SADE” = “rain” in Finnish 😁), we are involved specifically in many non-rainy projects: solar power, wind energy, etc. And I have to say that this one, Sono Motors, is superinteresting, I wonder if we should set up a competition who spots the first Sion in the road traffic here in Finland 😁!”
