How StopDigging turned ground screw installation into measured data
Connecting installation machines, the installer's phone and the cloud so every ground screw can be monitored, optimized and documented.
StopDigging
Customer context
StopDigging, Sweden’s largest supplier of ground screws, is a global pioneer of modern ground screw foundations — a faster, lighter alternative to concrete footings. Installation happens in the field, on many sites, by many crews. StopDigging wanted verifiable installation records from every installer, in every market.
The ground drill and the mobile app are used by an installation crew in the field, outdoors, often in poor weather, working through many screws on many sites in a day. Anything that adds a step to each screw does not get used, so capture had to be a by-product of the work rather than a separate reporting task.

The challenge
The quality of a ground screw foundation depends on how each screw is installed: depth, torque and ground conditions. Without a data trail, that knowledge stays in the installer's head and cannot be reviewed, optimised or shown to a customer afterwards.
Why the obvious solution was not enough
Off-the-shelf fleet-tracking would have located machines but not captured the installation itself. The valuable signal is what happens during each screw, which requires the machine, the installer's phone and the backend to work as one connected workflow.
The SADE approach
SADE Booster provided the cloud, device management and application foundation. On top of it, SADE built StopDigging Connect: a solution linking the LV21 ground screw installation machine, the installer's smartphone and the AWS Booster cloud.
Technology and delivery
- AWS SADE Booster cloud backend
- Connectivity from the LV21 installation machine
- Mobile application for the installer
- Monitoring, analytics and reporting views
Business outcome
- Installations are monitored and recorded rather than left undocumented
- Analytics support optimising how and where screws are placed
- A verifiable record exists for each installation
- Operative efficiency improves across crews and sites
What happens next
The solution is in use by StopDigging’s authorized installers globally. New, enhanced features are under development.
