How Harvia brought modern sauna control to cloud and mobile
Cloud, web, mobile and device integration for a modern remote sauna experience — from the Fenix control panel to the MyHarvia 2 app.
Harvia
Customer context
Harvia aims for digital leadership in the sauna market and growth outside Europe, with one platform for every device, user group and market.
Harvia is the global leader in the sauna market. Its range covers traditional, infrared and steam saunas, and in 2025 the company turned 75. Alongside traditional heating, Harvia is taking sauna control into cloud, mobile and remote use, and SADE has been building that with Harvia for several years.

The challenge
Sauna control had to move from a panel-only solution on the wall to something the user can reach from anywhere. The new Fenix control panel and the mobile app had to work as one product: the user taps in the app and the panel in the sauna stays in sync. And it had to be safe and reliable, because what is being controlled is a sauna heater.
Why the obvious solution was not enough
Remote switching alone would not have been enough. In a major launch carrying the Harvia name, the control panel, the app and the cloud have to feel like one product, and the behaviour has to be Harvia's own. That is why they were built together, instead of attaching a ready-made smart home service to a heater.
The SADE approach
SADE built the cloud on its own SADE Booster foundation on AWS, so a ready backend was in place from the start. On top of it SADE built the web interface for administrators and the mobile app connection to the Fenix control panel. The launch was delivered together with OUMAN, and the cooperation also covered UI/UX design and firmware development for EOS, Harvia's premium and professional sauna brand.
Technology and delivery
- AWS-based SADE Booster cloud
- AI that learns your own sauna: the more you use it, the better it predicts when the sauna is ready and spots anything unusual
- Web interface for system administrators
- Mobile application connection to the Harvia Fenix control panel
- MyHarvia 2 mobile application
- UI/UX design and firmware development for EOS
Business outcome
- Temperature, timers, lighting and other functions are one tap away, from anywhere
- Sauna control that is safe, reliable and convenient
- A next-generation launch: the Harvia Fenix control panel and the MyHarvia 2 app
- Harvia's Fenix heater is controlled with the Fenix panel and, from anywhere, with the MyHarvia 2 app
What happens next
The Fenix control panel and the MyHarvia 2 app are in use, and SADE continues to work with Harvia.
