IONCOR develops high-voltage battery systems. Battery management is where safety, lifetime and performance are actually decided.
Who uses it
Not an end user with a screen — the integrator designing a pack around the system, and the service engineer reading its data years later to work out why one cell is drifting. The interface here is the data model and the diagnostics, and those are the parts that decide whether the system is serviceable at all.

The challenge
A battery management system has to monitor cells continuously, keep the pack within safe limits, and expose enough data for optimisation and service — all under real electrical and thermal constraints.
Why the obvious solution was not enough
Battery management is too safety-critical and too product-specific to hand to a generic platform. The system has to be designed around the actual pack.
